FRACTAL

By Nicole Corea

The Victorian College of the Arts - 2024 Indonesia Tour

In 2024 Kitana Price had the opportunity to perform with five other peers as part of their Global Atelier subject in the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance), touring ‘Fractal’ by Nicole Corea alongside ‘Nonesuch’ by Anna Smith in the 2024 Solo International Performing Arts festival, Jakarta and the 2024 ARTJOG festival, Yogyakarta.

“Fractals exist in all things, from the smallest elements of nature to the grandest patterns of the universe. Inspired by their inherent beauty, this work aims to unveil how patterns can influence the connections within our existence, providing a glimpse into the hidden connections that shape our human experience and the longing for individual identity Following the theme and definition of fractals, their behaviour and infinite possibilities for existence, this iteration of the work proved that there are also infinite possibilities within the same choreographic concept. When changing dancers, expected outcomes and external forces, the same work can unveil a new pattern, similar to the last with new, yet familiar outcomes”
